Christopher Wise Specialist
Christopher Wise oversees the departments that direct property to the Great Estates auctions. Mr. Wise, who joined Rago in 2006 as a Junior Specialist in the Silver Department, began buying and selling antique tools, coins, currency, firearms, ephemera and silver while in his early twenties. He is a member of The Silver Society and the American Numismatics Society. He is also an auctioneer for Rago.
Sebastian Clarke Specialist
Sebastian Clarke directs Estate Services at Rago and serves a Specialist in Furnishings and Decorative Arts. He was born in Wales and hails from a family of art experts, including both his parents. Arriving in the U.S. in 1995, he worked as an apprentice restorer and art handler for Simon Parkes Art Conservation. He began his career in auctions at C.G. Sloane, served as a Specialist in the European Furniture department at Sotheby’s, as Director of the English and Continental furniture department at Freeman’s and at Doyle New York as a Senior Vice-President and Director of the English and Continental Furniture and Decorations department. Mr. Clarke is an auctioneer and an expert appraiser in multiple categories including Furniture, Decorative Arts, Sculpture and Metalwork and Silver for the PBS series Antiques Roadshow.
